Flower Power ... and some ribbon please!

Morrrrrrrrrrrrrrrninggggggggggggggg Peeps! Can you believe 2 weeks have gone by since our Colour Wheel Challenge/??? I know I say this all the time but holy doodle the weeks are flying by.

Thanks to everyone who entered our last challenge...your entries were fabulicious and if you want to see if you're a winner make sure you check here.

This weeks challenge has been brought to you by Lovely Ladybug Diane...I hope you've got your ribbon and flowers at the ready because you'll need them :-D

I made this card for Ryan's girlfriend Kat who celebrated her birthday while they were on holiday in Thailand. They got back yesterday and look fabtastic with their tans.

I've used Float Away Billie and as usual colored her with my Copics. It's the first time I've colored Billie grey and I wasn't sure how it would turn out but I really like it :-D I decided to cut her out and make a little scene with a diecut cloud in the background so she really does look like she's floating away lol.

I cut an oval in the center of a piece of kraft card stock then embossed it with a birthday embossing folder. After sticking a piece of lilac cardstock to the main card blank I taped a piece of ribbon around the embossed piece and centered onto the card blank with foam pads. I added a die cut cloud then Float Away Billie with foam pads.

I added Glossy Accents to the balloons one at a time, liberally sprinkling with glitter before moving onto the next one. This makes the balloons look separate from the bunch instead of one blob.

I love using burlap (hessian) to make flowers...especially with kraft cardstock. I added a button and twine to the center.

A peek at the inside.

Apart from Ryan coming home we have another house guest...there are arms and legs poking out of all the windows at the moment!!! For some reason Amber (16) wanted to come and stay with us after her exams. I'm sure it was to see Coen but I'll kid myself it was to see us too ;-D Amber sang at Nicole and Ben's wedding while the guests arrived at the church. She has an amazing voice and I'm hoping she'll give us an impromptu concert while she's here :-D

Did I mention Coen???? Here's the latest picture...sure to melt even the hardest of hearts ;-D He is 4 weeks old tomorrow...he'll be going to school before we know it!

I think we're going to Troon today...don't tell Ruby and Rocky as they're in Doggy Daycare and won't be too happy!!

Midway Reminder - Color Chart

Hey...Happy Tuesday! It's midway reminder time for our Color Chart Challenge. All you have to do is pick a color and the one opposite and make those your main color palette...easy peasy though it did send shivers through a couple of the Ladybugs lol.

I made a card for my mom...it's a belated Mother's Day card. The US and not the European Mother's Day so I'm not THAT late lol. Mom knows I've had a lot on my plate of late and is very forgiving ;-D

I've chosen yellow-green and red-violet...I think the colors I've used just about squeak into the category lol. I colored Swing Billie with my Copics adding liquid pearl to the center of the flowers and clear Wink Of Stella to Billie's heart. The pp is from my Desert Blooms 8 x 8 pad and the flowers Ribbon Girl :-D

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

ABC Challenges - I {heart} Animals
Artistic Inspirations - Stitching (real or faux)
Paper Playtime - Anything Goes
Make It Monday - Anything Goes
Bearly Mine Challenges - Anything Goes
Lady Anne's Challenges - Anything Goes

GG'ma Judy arrived safely and was thrilled to finally meet Coen. This was the first picture of the two of them together....

and yesterday I was lucky enough to capture his first proper smile....

Doesn't he just melt your heart?? Well, he does mine {love sigh}

We've been lucky enough to have had some gorgeous weather the last 4/5 days. Nicole, Coen, GG'ma Judy, Nic's in-laws and I went to James Heritage Park and walked around the lake grabbing an icecream for the 2nd lap.

I'm way behind on my work so after dropping the Rocky and Ruby off at Doggy Daycare this morning I'll be depositing The Judy at Nicole's for a day of cuddles and shopping and I'll hopefully tick a few things off my list :-D

Hope you have a fabulicious day

Pick a color any color...

Happy June!! Can you believe we are half way through 1013...where did it go???

Thank you to everyone for entering our Oh Baby! challenge last month. Make sure you check the Challenge Blog to see if you were one of the winners :-D

We are back to our fortnightly challenges and today's is Color Wheel. All you have to do is pick one color and use the one directly opposite as your main colors.

I've been stuck for crafting time the last couple of weeks (can't think of why lol) and didn't think I'd get a card made for today but as luck would have it I found this card I'd made last month but hadn't yet posted that fit the challenge perfectly yippee!!!! I've used Blue-Green and Red-Orange...let me know what you think...

I made this card for my BIL using Through The Ages 50 BUT he wasn't 50...he was 55. I thought I'd be a bit cheeky and print 'and the rest' lol. I paper pieced the 50 and colored the bunting with my Copics as well as the glass of wine adding Glossy Accents to make it look wet.

Tee hee...hope he didn't mind!

A little peek at the inside.

The winners of my image from last weeks Oh Baby! reminder, B for Baby are:

Congratulations girls...email me and I'll send the image to you asap.

A little update on my grandson Coen (I never get tired of saying that)...he is one day short of 2 weeks old and weighs in at 8lbs 1 oz...that's just shy of a 1lb gain!!! Most babies lose weight for the first week or so but not this little big guy lol.

Isn't he just the cutest baby you've every seen {love sigh} He is so good and only cries when he's hungry. He had his first proper photo shoot at the weekend...like the ones Ann Geddes does for her calendars. I can't wait to see them :-D

My mom, aka The Judy and now Great Grandma Judy arrives tomorrow for a month. It's been just over a year since we were all together for Nicole and Ben's wedding. We are all really excited and I can't wait for her to meet her great grandson...I hope I live long enough to have one of those lol.

Ok...gotta fly. I've got a date with the wee man and Nic at 12 and I've got a few things to do first.

Thanks for stopping by

Have a fabulicious week :-D

Oh Baby Week 4 a little late

Hello peeps! Yes I'm late but I have a good explanation...I was abducted by aliens...actually that's a lie lol. After I posted on the challenge blog my laptop decided to play up then Coen and Nicole came by and that was it...Glam'mas attention was no longer on cards lol.

Coen is a week old today...can you believe it????!!! I made him a card ... I had an idea in mind and it ALMOST turned out like wanted :-D The main thing is that Nicole and Ben loved it...Nic even went as far as to say it was my best ever card lol. Not sure about that but I'll take it ;-D

I've used B is for Baby ... I actually started the card BEFORE Coen was born. I thought I'd get a head start and make the base card and do an image suitable for a boy and a  girl then all I'd have to do was attach the appropriate one when the baby was born. I printed the B on pink and blue pp and cut out the blue one first, no problem (don't look to close lol) But for the life of me I couldn't cut out the pink...I printed it 3 times and messed each one up...I'm now thinking it was a sign lol.

I cut out the heart with my Nestie then put it through my Ebosser with the button embossing folder. After coloring and paper piecing the B I centered it in the heart and stitched around it. I cut out buttons with my Die-namics button threading the holes with twine and gluing them to the card with my hot glue gun for a bit of dimension.

Hmmm...I think I'll be getting my magnifying glasses on the next time I decided to paper piece :-S From a distance it looks fab lol

I wanted to cut out Coen's name but had sold all my alphabet dies...or so I thought. I had a light bulb moment, remembering I had a few Quick Kutz alphabets that I had planned on selling on Ebay...me thinks not now ... I love how his name turned out.

I embossed the bottom of the inside panel with the button folder but you can't really see it from this picture.

I'd like to enter my card in the following challenges:

Artistic Inspirations - Paper Piecing/Piercing
Digi Makeover Challenge - Anything Goes
Whoopsi Daisy Challenge - White On White
Make It Monday - Anything Goes
Paper Pretties - Embossing

I wouldn't be a proper Glam'ma if I didn't show you a picture of my gorgeous grandson so here you go....

Having a snooze on Great Grandma's shoulder

Yummy Mummy!

Thank you everyone for your congratulations and good wishes since Coen was born. Everything they say about being a grandma is true and I'm loving every minute. I can't get enough of this little guy...he is absolutely perfect though I reserve the right to retract that statement when he hits the Terrible Two's lol.

Coen Benjamin 3 days old

I am in love...pure and simple. Everything they say about being a grandparent is true. This little guy has brought us so much happiness and our lives have been turned upside down. My house is a tip, the ironing piled high and my craftroom neglected...would I have it any other way...nope lol. Here are a few of the gazillion pictures I've taken of Coen in the last 3 days!

I recently got 2 new FREE apps for my phone...this one is Instastitch...it's so easy to use. I think this is the closest I'll ever get to scrapbooking lol.

Mommy and Coen

Daddy and Coen

Not happy

Number one Grandpa!

This is the 2nd app...PS Express...it's brilliant and again FREE and easy to use.

Steven is feeling a little left out being away and asks for pictures every day. I've also taken a few videos which I'll share another time.

My next post will be a card...promise lol

Have a great weekend

Introducing....

My beautiful Grandson Coen Benjamin McLeod born Wednesday May 22 at 12:05 am 7 lbs 5 1/2 oz. Nicole was a superstar and I am so proud of her. She had a tough time and luckily I was asked to be in the labor suite with her and Ben. Unfortunately she had to be taken to theater for a forceps delivery and I was unable to go as only one could but I got to wait and hold him when they returned to the recovery room. Ben was fantastic and they are going to be amazing parents.

He's very long and has huge hands...I think he's going to be tall like his Uncle Steven

This was taken just after 1:30 am. I'd only had 2 hours sleep in 36 hours  but it was worth it...I just love him to bits.

I'm sure I will be posting pictures here regularly and I make no apologies for it lol.

Ready Teddy Go Midway Reminder

Happy Sunday! As I'm a sponsor for May's Ready Teddy Go Spring Has Sprung Challenge I have made another card for the midway reminder using Flower Billie...

I've been threatening to use my Prisma pencils for a while now so dusted them off and set to work. It's been a long while since I've used them which shows lol. I couldn't get the depth of colour I wanted without darkening the whole image. Then I went over the lines a couple of times and I've never worked out how to erase them. If anyone knows how can you let me know please :-D

The pink polka dot strip is tape. A humungous new Paperchase opened in town and I was passing with Nic, SIL and my niece when they were visiting a few weeks ago. I LOVE Paperchase and EVERYTHING inside....this store did not disappoint. They had a HUGE display of ribbon in every color imaginable and I wanted it so bad lol. I found the tape upstairs and restricted myself to one roll though could easily have bought 10. It's super easy to use and if you've placed it wrong it lifts easily and doesn't take anything with it or leave any sticky behind.

I made the clouds using a cut out of a cloud die, laying it down and lightly sponging blue ink, moving the cloud and repeating the sponging until your sky is created.

I printed the sentiment on my computer and trimmed to look like flags

I matched the flower to the tape strip by laying 4 strips of tape side by side on a piece of cs then cut the flower with a die. I added pink nailheads to the centre with my Kandi Kane

A strip of the tape with a piece of pp stuck on top finishes the inside :-D

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Inspire Me Fridays - Anything Goes
Simply Create Too - Anything Goes
Sister Act Card Challenge - Anything Goes
Wags 'n Whiskers - Anything Goes
Crafty Calender Challenge - Blooms & Blossoms
